How can you kill a Rhus Tree?
The rhus seeds can remain viable for many years and that the movement of garden soil containing the seed can spread further the growth of the tree. Depending on how large the roots are, it could take several years for them to decompose. It should be removed with caution by wearing protective materials to avoid contact with the sap which is especially dangerous. First the stump and roots will die, but it will take a long time for the roots to rot away. You will be able to reduce the risk of catching an allergy by waiting until the leaves have fallen before attempting to remove the plant
For the stump to rot quicker and kill the rhus tree, you will have to lift the block paving and cut out the offending roots. It would take as much as 10 to 15 years for the roots to be destroyed completely.
